Collection includes original diaries, typed extracts from letters and diaries detailing her children's development and trips abroad, and copies of The Jargonian, an illustrated family newsletter, 1949-1975. Also one videotape of a talk by Hauke about Ted Poston, 1999. More will be added later.

Ted Poston was the first full-time African-American reporter for the "New York Post," where he worked from 1936 covering many major black-oriented news stories, until his retirement in 1972. Prior to being hired by the Post, Poston wrote for the "Pittsburgh Courier," "Amsterdam News," and the "New York Contender." He was also on the staff of the Federal Writers' Project, and from 1940-1945 he was a member of the "Black Cabinet," an informal network of African Americans serving in or advising the...
